2020 Haudenosaunee Art Show, images depict 2019 artist submissions

Ganondagan is pleased to announce its fourth juried Hodinöhsö:ni’ Art Show to be exhibited virtually at on November 6th 2020.

The global pandemic has inhibited our ability to gather but it hasn’t dampened our desire to continue to promote and highlight amazing Hodinöhsö:ni’ art!

We will be creating an online catalog of the selected Haudenosaunee work professionally photographed here at the Seneca Art & Culture Center. This online catalog will have a portrait of the artist, the selected work with an artist statement, a short artist biography, and the artist’s contact information (should the piece be of interest to a patron).

Haudenosaunee artists in the five divisions of: Beadwork, Basketry, Traditional Arts, Fine Art 2D, and Fine Art Sculpture were able to enter up to three pieces of new work for consideration in the show. (First Place - $1,250; Second Place - $750; Third Place - $400; Best in Show - $2,500).

All pieces must be available to purchase, and Ganondagan will have right of first refusal (the right to purchase before any other offers are considered).

Complete applications must be received by September 25th, 2020; incomplete applications will not be considered. Artists will be notified within a week of the submission deadline if their work has been accepted into the show.

Artists whose work has been accepted into the show will bring their work to the Seneca Art & Culture Center on Sunday, October 11th, 2020 for professional photography of the work and for their artists portrait. We will let the artists know what time to be at the SACC for their photo session.

If the artist has been accepted into the show and cannot be here in person on Sunday October 11th, 2020 for the photography session please contact us ASAP to make alternative arrangements. Considerations will be made on a case to case basis.

Awards will be revealed upon launching the virtual gallery opening on Friday, November 6th, 2020.

Call for artists has ended, no application received after 9/25 will be considered.
